2007's Naughtiest Poker-playing Celebs

2007 has been a year full of fascinating events. Throughout this year, many prominent poker-playing celebrities from all over the world have either announced their eagerness to become top poker pros or already displayed amazing poker talent. While some of them were dragged into international scandals, others have led a somewhat quieter lifestyle. It is our goal here, in this article, to recall the most interesting events that by pure chance involved both poker as well as the world's most renowned actors, singers, models, musicians, dancers and royalty.

31.12.07- Shannon Elizabeth Breaks up with Emad Tahtouh...

Although the news was never publicly confirmed by the sexy 'American Pie' actress herself, it's been reported that Shannon Elizabeth is flying solo again. Over the years, Elizabeth was romantically involved with several prominent individuals, including her ex-husband Hollywood actor Joseph Reitman. On an earlier occasion, the actress was reported as saying that she and Tahtouh, a poker pro, shared a passion for the game. From now on, however, they will probably play poker in separate poker rooms.

18.12.07- Pamela Anderson to Divorce Poker Player Rick Solomon?

Frankly, we've stopped taking Pamela Anderson seriously a long time ago. The buxom ex-'Baywatch' actress certainly has been quite volatile with regards to her love life. First there was Tommy Lee, then Kid Rock and now poker pro Rick Solomon. Anderson's marriage to Salomon boasts rather peculiar circumstances. The busty actress admitted that she fell in love with Salomon after paying a poker debt with sexual favors. At the time, she was reported as saying that it was a highly romantic adventure. Well, the only thing left for us to do is wait for further developments in the Anderson- Solomon divorce saga.

26.11.07- Joe Hachem and Justin Timberlake Engage in Poker Battle...

To play poker opposite such a prominent poker celebrity as Joe Hachem is like reaching for the stars. However, if you happen to be Justin Timberlake, the word 'impossible' does not exist in your vocabulary. Last November, the top American singer arrived at Australia and had his managers contact Hachem. As it turned out, Timberlake was craving for a heads-up battle against the legendary poker pro. Amiable by nature, Hachem agreed. Unfortunately, it was never reported who was the winner of the 'Timberlake vs. Hachem' game.

11.11.07- Nicolas Cage to Portray Poker Legend Amarillo Slim in Future Movie...

Amarillo Slim is undoubtedly one of the most talented poker players of our times. The proud owner of four World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, Slim is a poker powerhouse. According to our sources, several months ago, Nick Cage was approached with the irresistible offer to portray the poker pro in a future flick. Interestingly enough, Braxton Pope, the project's producer, reportedly said that although the film's storyline would rely heavily on Slim's personal experiences, it'd not be a documentary. We believe that the film is due for major success.

19.09.07- Australian Actor Russell Crowe Seeks to Get Rid of Video Poker Machines...

Apparently, Australian Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe has a grudge against video poker machines. Otherwise, why would he approach the South Sydney Leagues Club officials with the request to remove the 160 video poker machines now operated at the organization's facilities. On his part, 'Gladiator' protagonist was reported as saying that the entire idea was not originally his. Rather it was initially introduced by the sponsors of the Rabbitohs team, owned by Crowe and his partner. Whether the actor was being honest or not, we haven't the slightest idea. Nevertheless, being ardent poker supporters ourselves (responsible gambling, though), we've already put Crowe on our black list!

07.09.07- 2007 WSOP Attracts Hollywood Celebs...

While the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a 'must-attend' event for the global poker community, 2007's WSOP has also managed to attract people who seemingly have nothing to do with the gambling industry. As it turned out, a growing number of Hollywood celebrities have started taking poker very seriously. Some of the world's most popular celebs have become so committed to the game that they practice it regularly. In 2007, the prestigious competition has seen the likes of 'Seinfeld' actor Jason Alexander, 'Spiderman' protagonist Tobey Maguire as well Brad Garrett, Robert Barone on 'Everybody Loves Raymond.' Sexy 'American Pie' actress Shannon Elizabeth was also spotted playing at the competition.

07.09.07- Prince Harry Goes after Ladbrokes Poker Room Babe Danielle Lloyd?

Is the young British prince in love? Could the Cinderella fairytale ever become reality? Well, we don't know anything about that, but back in September, some British tabloids reported that Prince Harry, the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, was spotted flirting with the new face of top Internet poker room Ladbrokes, Danielle Lloyd. According to eyewitnesses, the prince looked quite enchanted with the sexy lingerie model. Whether it was her generous cleavage that kept the prince so interested or her exceptional wits, Harry could not take his eyes off her!
