2006 has seen the release of the 21st sequel in the James Bond series. On the very first day of 2007, that is on January 1st, it was reported that Mikkelsen had been fined for allegedly participating in an illegal poker game. As it turned out, the unfortunate actor was playing poker in a Copehagen, Denmark gaming facility that apparently violated local licensing rules. At the time, an eyewitness was reported as saying that Mikkelsen was shocked to realize that police took the incident rather seriously since the poker game involved no real money. Maybe Danish authorities took avenge of Le Chiffre for being so evil.
