EPT Deauville final table all set
Play gets underway on January 25 at the final table of EPT Deauville in France. The event has produced some real drama over recent days and now it is Teodor Caraba from Romania who leads the pack going into the final day of action. Of the other players at the final table there is another Romanian present, Claudiu Secara, showing just how much progress Romanian players are making in the world of poker.
EPT former winner Mike McDonald is also in the mix, although the other previous EPT winner who was in with a chance, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, was seen off by Caraba's pocket aces before he reached the final table.
Despite Caraba's chip advantage, the player to beat now will be Peter Eastgate, a former World Champion and EPT London runner up. The Danish player is only 24 but has already managed to get big wins on no less than four occasions, including the 2008 World Series Main Event where he won $9 million.
With a first-place prize of €847,000 it's all there to play for, and it really could be anyone's game. The last British player in the mix is Jake Cody, who is better known for his online antics. It's his first EPT final table and whatever position he finishes in it will be his biggest payday so far.
