Date Confirmed for PartyPoker Women’s Open
PartyPoker and Matchroom Sport have jointly confirmed that the PartyPoker.com Women's World Open IV will happen in London on March 23-24 2010. The 24-player $3,000 buy-in contest features a total prize pool of $72,000 and a final six-seat table.
Amongst those already confirmed to play are Team PartyPoker.com's Kara Scott and Betfair pro Annette Obrestad. Kara made her main advance in the poker world by reaching the final table of the inaugural Women's Open event and then she went on to cash big at the WSOP Main Event and Irish Open.
Last year's winner Aisling Collins and runner-up Kim Wooka have also confirmed. Last year Collins showed that England's got flair but the same can be said for Japan in the form of Kim Wooka. Both will be strong contenders for the title this year.
Shelly Rubenstein, Laurence Grondin, Stefanie Bergener, Maria Demetriou, Christine Klecz, Pippa Flanders and season two winner Soraya Homam are also listed to play.
The PartyPoker.com Women's World Open has proved extremely popular with players, viewers and broadcasters over the last three seasons, according to Matchroom Sport director Eddie Hearn. Jessie May will provide commentary for this year's TV broadcast, with presenting duties shared between Kara Scott and Tatjana Pasilic.
