Golden Nugget, Las Vegas to Host World Team Poker’s First Event
On May 19, 2010 World Team Poker will hold its inaugural event at the Golden Nugget. Eight different countries, each with five-man teams of the world's top poker pros, will be represented at the one-day event. Rounds of limit, pot limit and no limit hold'em will be played in a five-table shoot out format at this filmed for television event.
Viewers from around the world will be able to watch the live event for free by registering at World Team Poker's website. If you register before May 1, you will have an opportunity to win a Grand Prize free trip for two to Las Vegas including two nights at the Golden Nugget to view the event live.
World Team Poker is a global team poker association. Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Jeff Lisandro, Eli Elezra and many others will be featured at the event, which will be broadcast live on the Internet on May 19, 2010.
World Team Poker might be just the thing if watching the same old poker tournament format that's been around since the 1970s is getting a bit dull for you. Each of the eight national teams participating in the event will have a captain and four players, or in some cases two co-captains and three other players. The buy-in for each team will be $50,000.
