The WSOP Announces $1,000,000 Texas Hold ‘em Freeroll
The World Series of Poker has announced that it will be holding a live $1,000,000 Texas Hold ‘em Freeroll Tournament. The event will take place during the Annual WSOP, which will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year marks the 41st time the Annual WSOP will be held.
How Players Are Selected
The $1,000,000 freeroll, which is known as the 2010 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions, will feature players who have been chosen by the public. People can vote by going to the official page of the WSOP. A total of 27 players will be involved in the event.
Rules of the Event
Five of the 27 have already been allowed into the event. Those players are the three previous WSOP TOC winners, the present WSOP champion and the current WSOP Europe champ. That means that Mike Sexton, Annie Duke, Mike Matusow, Barry Shulman and Joe Cada are in the mix.
That leaves 22 other seats to fill. There are 521 eligible players, all of whom have won a WSOP gold necklace, at the WSOP site. You can vote for the freeroll participants up until June 15. The 2010 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions will start on June 27.
The tournament will go until nine players are left. There will then be a break until July 4 when the players will come back and compete for the big prizes. You can catch highlights of the event on ESPN when they air a two-hour special devoted to the 2010 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions on August 4, 2010.
