Call- Match a wager.


Calling station- A player who plays very weakly and calls every bet no matter what cards he holds. Therefore, it is not recommended to bluff such a player.


Cap- To place the maximum allowed number of raises in a betting round. (pesterThe term is typically followed by: 'the bets,' 'the bet,' or 'the betting.')


Card hustler- A player who steals cards.


Card shark- A very good poker player. Usually refers to poker pros.


Card sharp- A cheating poker player.


Cash in- Exchange a player's chips for money (preferably in cash). The move means that a player is no longer interested to continue the game.


Center pot- A reference to the main pot.


Cheat- To make deceptive moves in an attempt to win the game.


Check- To stay in the game without making a bet.


Check and raise- Check, typically holding a playable hand, and then, when an opponent bets and it is your turn to act, raise.


C.H.O.R.S.E- A tournament format in which players compete in six different versions of poker played in rotation. The list of these games is comprised of: Chowaha, Limit Texas Hold 'em, Omaha/8, Razz, 7-Card Stud (high), and 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo (the 'E' stands for 8-or-Better).


Coffeehousing- To disclose one's hand on order to mislead opponents.


Collusion- A cooperation between two or more players intended to cheat other players.


Community cards- In Texas Hold 'em, cards dealt face up for all players to share in an attempt to make a winning hand.


Connectors- In Texas Hold 'em, two cards of consecutive ranks. Typically refers to pocket cards. For instance, Queen of Spades and King of Hearts.


Conservative- A player who would not bet unless he's pretty sure that he has the strongest hand.


Cripple- In Texas Hold 'em, refers to a situation when you have all the cards you would want the current board to give you. Usually followed by the term 'deck.'


Customer- A calling opponent.


Cut- To split the deck in the middle and to reverse the halves before any cards are dealt.
