Lammer- A special chip a satellite tournament winner receives to use it as an entry to a larger tournament.


Late position- A person who is among the latest to act in a round of betting.


Laydown- Folding a playable hand with the conviction that the hand will lose.


Leak- A flaw in a player's play.


Limit poker- A form of poker in which players are required to place bets according to the game's betting limit structure.


Loan shark- A person who is willing to loan money to poker gamblers with huge interest. (Often, a very shady individual).


Long call- Making a call with a so-so hand trying to expose bluffers.


Loose player- A player who chooses to stay in most hands (even when the probability of him winning with his current hand is scarce).


Low roller- A gambler who usually plays in small stake games.


Low-stakes game- A game of poker with small stakes.


Lucky draw- To nab a card that completes a hand defying the odds.
